Number 9: Mollie King, Singer
A member of the British girl group The Saturdays, Mollie has received twelve top-ten and seven top-five singles on the UK Singles Chart and three top-ten albums on the UK Albums Chart. King has also created a collection for Oasis Stores titled ‘Loved by Mollie’ and appeared on episodes of Hollyoaks.
Number 8: Florence Welsh, Singer
The British indie singer is best known for her popular band Florence and the Machine in which won the Best Album award for ‘Lungs’ at the Brit Awards 2010. On Dyslexia “I was a short, chubby kid, very quiet, and I suffered from dyslexia, which made me feel different to everyone else.
Number 7: Joss Stone, Singer/Songwriter
Having one of the most soulful voices in the country, Stone has been Nominated for 3 Grammys: best new artist, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (‘You Had Me’) & Best Pop Vocal Album (Mind, Body & Soul) (2005) despite only being 27 Years old. The soulful singer has also been Ranked #78 on the Maxim magazine Hot 100 of 2007 list.
Number 6: Kara Tointon, Actress
Best known for playing Dawn Swann in EastEnders and winning 2010’s Strictly Come Dancing. Kara helps promote Dyslexia with the BBC documentary Kara Tointon: Don’t Call Me Stupid. On making ‘Kara Tointon. Don’t Call Me Stupid’ “At one point I didn’t want to do the documentary about my dyslexia. I felt quite vulnerable and exposed but it was one of the best things I’ve ever done”
Number 5: Holly Willoughby, Presenter
Most famous for her presenting role on This Morning in which she shares with friend Phillip Schofield and taking over Cilla Blacks role in Surprise, Surprise because of her likeable personality. Willoughby is constantly remarked as beautiful by the media and has appeared in FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women poll every year since 2005.
Number 4: Liv Tyler, Actress/Model
Daughter of Steven Tyler, Liv Tyler was launched into fame by such films as Armageddon and by playing the Elvish beauty Arwen in Lord of the Rings. Tyler also is a spokeswoman for Givenchy Perfume and Cosmetics and has modelled for companies such as Pantene and Maybelline.
Number 3: Salma Hayak, Actor
Salma Hayak rose to fame in the 1990’s with such films as Desperado’s, From Dusk to Dawn and Dogma. Frequently topping lists on magazine poles for being attractive, such as 8th of the 100 Sexiest Women, #31 in Stuff magazine’s “102 Sexiest Women in the World” and #12 in FHM magazine’s “100 Sexiest Women in the World”
Number 2: Keira Knightley, Actress
Was first recognised in Bend in like Beckham before making international fame in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Regarded as one of the sexiest women working in Hollywood and has won frequent awards such as The Sexiest Film Star of All Time by Empire magazine poll and Voted #1 in New Woman magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful Celebs 2004. As well as being and actress, Knightley was confirmed as the new celebrity face of Chanel’s perfume Coco Mademoiselle.
Number 1: Marilyn Monroe, Actress/Model
Voted ‘Sexiest Women in the Century’ by People Magazine, Marilyn Monroe has the most famous face in the world. Monroe was discovered at a young age whilst modelling for swimsuits and eventually transcended into a film star. Famous for her rough upbringing and famous male lovers, Monroe was seen as an innocent wrapped in the world of fame and greed. Although this year would be her 88th birthday, Monroe is seen as an immortal beauty that will pass on to generations after us.
